Terms of Service
Last updated: 31 August 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Mukund Pandey ("we", "us") for the Even mobile application and the services behind it (together, "Even"). By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use Even.
Read them alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what Even does with your information and forms part of this agreement.
Who can use Even
You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher, and able to enter a contract. Even is built for a household of exactly two people; it is not a team or family-group product, and we do not support using one account for more than one person.
Your account
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us at support@evenapp.site if you think someone else has got into it. We are not liable for loss arising from someone using your account with your credentials, unless that was our fault.
You may close your account at any time — see Delete Account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to harm someone, or where we are required to by law. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.
Your household, and the other person in it
Even pairs two accounts into one household. When you join a household, or invite someone into yours, everything in that household becomes visible to both of you — chores, notes, photographs, completions and check-ins alike.
By inviting someone you confirm you are content for them to see what you put in. Do not put anything into Even that you are not willing for the other person in your household to read. We cannot un-show something once they have seen it.
Invite codes are private. Anyone holding a valid, unused code can join your household, so send it only to the person you mean to share a home with.
Your content
Everything you write, photograph or record in Even is yours. You keep every right in it. You grant us only the narrow licence we need to run the Service: to store your content, to show it to the other member of your household, and to back it up. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, save for backups already taken, which age out within 30 days.
You promise that what you put into Even is yours to put there, and that it does not break the law or anyone's rights.
How you may not use Even
- To harass, intimidate, coerce or monitor another person against their will. Even is a shared list between two consenting adults, not a surveillance tool.
- To upload anything unlawful, or any image of a person taken or shared without their consent.
- To break into, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the Service, or to get at data that is not yours.
- To use automated means to create accounts, scrape data, or drive the Service at abnormal volume.
- To resell, sublicense or rent access to Even.
Our licence to you
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Even on devices you own or control, for your own domestic purposes. Everything in the app — its code, design, drawings, text, name and logo — belongs to us or our licensors and stays that way.
Purchases
If Even offers a paid feature or subscription, it is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and their terms govern the transaction, billing and renewal. Refunds are handled by the store, not by us — see the Support page for the link. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your store account; cancelling stops the next renewal and does not refund the current period.
Availability, and changes to the app
We try to keep Even running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, add or remove features, and we may have to take the Service down for maintenance. If we ever discontinue Even entirely, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to get your data out.
Even keeps a copy of your household on your device and works offline, but syncing needs a connection, and you are responsible for your own data charges.
Even is not advice
Even shows you how a week's work divided between two people. Those figures are estimates built from what the two of you told it — they are a conversation starter, not a measurement, and certainly not relationship, legal, medical or financial advice. What you do with them is up to you.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent the law allows, Even is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow such exclusions, in which case they do not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including, if you are a consumer, your statutory rights.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data beyond what a reasonable backup would have prevented; and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Even in the twelve months before the claim, or £50.
Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of how you used Even — content you uploaded, or a term of this agreement you broke — you agree to cover our reasonable costs in dealing with it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page changes when we do. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and continuing to use Even afterwards means you accept it. If you do not accept it, close your account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, and the courts of the United Kingdom have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, or of your right to bring a claim in your local courts.
Apple App Store
If you got Even from the App Store, you also agree that: this agreement is between you and us, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide support for Even; Apple is not responsible for any claim that Even fails to conform to a warranty or infringes a third party's intellectual property; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stands. Not enforcing a term straight away does not waive it. You may not transfer this agreement; we may transfer it to a successor of the business, on notice to you. These terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about Even.
