Delete Your Account

Last updated: 31 August 2026

You can permanently delete your Even account and the data belonging to it at any time. There are two routes, and the first is faster.

From inside the app

  1. Open Even and go to the Settings tab.
  2. Scroll to Account.
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm when asked. Deletion begins straight away.

By email

If you have lost access to the app or to your device, write to support@evenapp.site from the email address on the account, with the subject "Delete my Even account".

We will confirm we have received it, and complete the deletion within 30 days. We may need to check that the request is genuinely yours before we act on it — an account deleted by the wrong person cannot be brought back.

Deletion is permanent. There is no undo, no grace period and no way for us to restore an account once it is gone. If you only want to stop using Even for a while, sign out or delete the app instead — your household stays as it is until you come back.

What is deleted

  • Your profile — your display name, character, signature colour and profile photograph.
  • Your sign-in credentials and your account with our authentication provider.
  • Your household, and every chore, completion, thank you, ask, proposal, note, photograph and closed week in it — for both of you.
  • Your push notification token, so no further notification can reach you.
  • Any photographs you uploaded, from private storage.
  • Every record you created — completions, thanks, asks, proposals and check-ins — along with the household they belonged to.
  • Any unused invite codes you created.

What happens to your household

A household in Even is two people. When either of you deletes their account the household ends — there is no version of it with one person left in it. Everything the two of you shared goes with it: every chore, completion, photograph, note and closed week. This is the same whether or not your partner is still using Even.

Nothing happens to your partner's account. Their sign-in, their profile and their own copy of the list on their phone are untouched, and they can start a new household or join someone else's the same day. We will not delete another person's account because you asked us to.

Their app tells them what has happened, and what they still have, the next time it reaches the internet.

What may remain, and for how long

  • Encrypted backups for up to 30 days, after which they are overwritten on their own schedule. Nobody reads them; they exist only to recover from a failure.
  • Support emails, if you have written to us, for up to two years — so that a thread makes sense if you write again.
  • Records we are required to keep by law, such as a purchase receipt, for as long as the law requires.
  • Anonymous analytics, unless you had switched analytics off. These carry no name, no email and no content, and cannot be tied back to you, so there is nothing in them to delete.

The copy on your phone

Even keeps a copy of your household on your device so it works without signal. Deleting your account clears it, and deleting the app removes it outright.

Your partner's phone keeps its own copy of the list, which is theirs and is not ours to erase. What it loses is the household: the two phones stop sharing, and their app says so the next time it syncs.

Questions

If you are not sure what deleting will do in your case, ask before you do it: support@evenapp.site. See also the Privacy Policy for what Even holds in the first place.
