Before you write

Including these three things gets you a useful answer in one round rather than three:

• Your device and iOS version, and roughly when the problem started.
• What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
• A screenshot, if the problem is something you can see.

Common questions

My partner and I are not seeing the same list

Both of you need to be signed in and in the same household. Check Settings → Your home on both phones — it should say you share this home, and name the other person. If one of you is still on your own, the invite was never redeemed; generate a fresh code and try again. Even also syncs when it can reach the network, so a phone that has been offline catches up the next time it opens with signal.

My invite code will not work

Codes expire, and each one can only be used once. Get a fresh one from Settings → Your home → Show the invite code. Codes are not case sensitive, but a mistyped character will fail — the safest route is to copy and paste it.

I am not getting notifications

Check that notifications are allowed for Even in your phone's system settings, and that Focus or Do Not Disturb is not silencing them. Even sends notifications for chores that are due, asks from your partner, things they have done, and the weekend check-in — and nothing else.

Why does Even not have streaks, points or badges?

Because they would work against the thing the app is for. Even is a shared record between two people, and turning household labour into a score gives one person a way to be losing. Balance covers one week and then resets; it never accumulates into a debt.

Can I add a third person?

No. Even is built for exactly two people sharing one home, and the tracker-and-doer idea at the centre of it only holds for two.

How do I turn analytics off?

Setup asks, and you can change the answer whenever you like. Settings → Privacy has separate switches for analytics and crash reports, and either takes effect immediately. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is and is not sent.

How do I delete my account?

From Settings → Account → Delete account, or by asking us. The Delete Account page has the detail on what goes and what stays.

What does Even cost?

Nothing. Even is free and there is nothing to buy inside it. If that ever changes, anything sold would go through the App Store, and a refund would be Apple's to give rather than ours.
